Antonio Conte’s name is heating up once again in regard to the AC Milan job, but there is a very clear obstacle: his current employers, Napoli. There is a way out, though.
Last year, there were several reports which suggested that Milan were considering Conte, in regard to their next head coach. However, the Rossoneri very publicly opted to go in a different direction with Zlatan Ibrahimovic stating that he was not what the club were looking for.
So, the former Tottenham head coach went off to Naples, and now he may win the Scudetto in his first season. However, it is not a clear picture, and there are several suggestions that he could leave his post at the end of this season.
As Felice Raimondo reports on X, via Calciomercato.com, the head coach only has two options if he were to depart, he can either leave on his own accord without pay, or be sacked, though the latter is not likely, with Giovanni Manna, the club’s sporting director, stating that this was not being considered, once again as relayed by the CM report.
Should he wish to leave, Milan and Juventus will be the two fighting for the Italian, and the Calciomercato.com report states that Fabio Paratici, the favourite for the job, wants to bring Conte to Milano.
For the Old Lady, it is not as simple as the situation depends on Igor Tudor’s future; we must see, but the Diavolo could have the edge.
Milan need a coach like Conte. He would immediately make Milan compete for the Scudetto.
Agreed. Paratici/Conte is a great combo and a strong statement of intent.
Fabbri was horrendous. It felt like we were playing 12 men at times!
But but but, Conte always plays with a three man defence, we are being told.
Three man defense is what Milan should play with this set of players.
Remember the start of this season when some fans preferred Motta over Conte? A similar situation is unfolding with Allegri now. Some fans criticize his style of play as boring, but opinions would likely shift if he starts performing well with another team.
That said, I believe the issue with us fans is a lack of patience. We’re already writing off Gimenez because of his recent poor performances, while suddenly Abraham—who we once thought wasn’t good enough for Milan—is now considered better than Gimenez.
Proving even more why a lot of fans are fickle, immature and don’t know where to stand.
