AC Milan could turn to Montpellier defender Maxime Esteve as a way of adding more depth to the backline this summer, a report claims.
As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport (via Milan News), the Rossoneri are keen to add another defender to the squad to replace the depth lost by Matteo Gabbia’s move to Villarreal.
The focus right now is getting Yunus Musah’s contracts signed over the next day or two, but then work will begin on defensive depth.
Esteve has been linked with Milan in the past and the 21-year-old has been highly rated for a handful of seasons. He is under contract in Ligue 1 until 2015 so it would need to be a full purchase.
He has made 47 appearances in Ligue 1 during his career and at 1.93 metres, he stands incredibly tall. The finances of the deal are not yet clear, but Milan certainly want another defender in the team.

OK, now you got me confused. Let’s simplify this then. Do you think Kjaer was our best CB last season?
Not the best but at 21 he looks promising. And looking at how shaky our defence is with Kalulu also not being a natural CB and Kjaer being on the wrong side of 30, we should defenetly invest in a new CB.
