CorSera: Ibrahimovic warns Pioli as Milan await potential Benevento banana skin

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head to Benevento knowing that a win will see them keep top spot in the Serie A table, but with Inter playing Crotone it will likely have to be three points or they will lose it.

As today’s edition of il Corriere della Sera reports (via MilanNews), it will be an anything but comfortable game against a side managed by club legend Pippo Inzaghi and one who have recovered from an early season slump.

Stefano Pioli’s side no intention of slowing down in the race towards a Champions League place, which remains the real seasonal target. After an incredible 2020 which has been encapsulated by the 26-game unbeaten run in Serie A, Milan want to aim high.

However, today’s away match is the classic banana skin not to be underestimated. Zlatan Ibrahimovic also knows it very well, as the paper reports that yesterday after training he turned to his coach warning him: “Watch out, mister, it won’t be easy.”

In order to continue their race towards the future, Milan will have to break down a taboo, having never beaten the Giallorossi.
