CorSera: Leao has ‘slim’ chance of recovering for first leg of Milan-Inter

AC Milan's Portuguese forward Rafael Leao

Rafael Leao picked up an injury in AC Milan’s clash against Lazio this past weekend and could thus miss the first leg against Inter. It would be a huge blow for the Rossoneri, who rely a lot on the winger.

According to today’s edition of Corriere Della Sera, as cited by MilanNews, the muscle injury is a minor one but it’s still unlikely that he will play on Wednesday. Milan have the return leg to think about and it might not be worth risking him.

The injury, as stated, is not very serious but there isn’t really much time to recover from it either. He could be on the bench as Milan will monitor his condition day by day, hour by hour, and the final decision will be made on gameday.

Plan B appears to be Alexis Saelemaekers, who came off the bench against Lazio and did well on the left flank. Ante Rebic is also an option, but he has struggled to perform on a consistent basis this season.
