CorSera: Milan agreement with Chelsea for Loftus-Cheek to total €21.5m

By Euan Burns -

The full agreement that AC Milan has found with Chelsea for the signing of Ruben Loftus-Cheek is going to total €21.5 million, a report claims.

As has been reported by Corriere della Sera (via Milan News), the English midfielder is going to become the first paid-for signing of the summer transfer window for the Rossoneri.

There have been marginally differing reports about just how much money Milan are paying Chelsea for the player but CorSera believes that when you combine the fixed part of the transfer along with the bonuses, the total is €21.5m.

It is expected that he will be getting paid €4m net per season for the four years of his new contract which would take the overall outlay to €37.5m.

It is therefore not an insignificant outlay for the club, but it could prove to be a very good value for money given Loftus-Cheek is a very skilful player who is only 27 years old.

  1. Milan could’ve gone for Kovacic, why they are signing an average player. I cannot believe it enough is enough we are not a poor club to be honest. Remember we got Messias in the place of Messi last summer.

  2. This is the highest amount he will ever be bought for which goes completely against our ethos supposedly. Makes me laugh how this has risen from 16 to 21.5 and tonali has reduced from 80 to 65 hmmm

      1. RLC better than Frattesi? hahah

SMS might cost more, but he has been by far the best CM in Serie A for the last 4-5 years

  3. There are really a lot of experts here from some 12 years old who should be hired by the best European clubs when advising on the purchase of players ! It’s amazing how confident they are in their judgments based on the great experience they have playing games and watching videos on YouTube !

    1. 💯
I don’t understand why they do not want to give RLC the benefit of the doubt, he is now a Milan player (well almost) let’s hope he does well and get behind him.

There is no doubting this boys skill levels, if he can adjust and settle he is our SMS, has the skills, the physically, the passion and is almost impossible to knock of the ball.

      Forza Milan. Forza RLC

  4. What a catastrophe haha this team is desperate about offloading players and we buy them the undesirable guys for the price they ask. Origi and Rebic will be sold for 4x less than that. So good to finally have a competent front staff. Some will say M&M wanted Loftus-Cheek first, but the plan was to get him for the rotation. With Sandro gone, he will now be a starter. Can’t wait to build a stadium!

    1. Even If Tonali stayed Loftus Cheek would have been his starting partner in the midfield. He would have been the starter with Tonali or without Tonali. People seem to forget that Bennacer lost his spot in the double pivot during the season

      1. My friend we can only speculate now but it was reported that M&M wanted Milinkovic-Savic, with Kamada as AM. Loftus-Cheek was probably a plan B to replace Bennacer during his injury. Since Pioli wasn’t involving young players (Vranckx was excellent with Belgium this month), M&M were probably looking at Loftus-Cheek while expecting a more important discount. We didn’t have money then, now we have money and more holes and the current front staff looks like a headless chicken so far.

  5. RLC at 4M per year is not bad. Chelsea is in fire sale mode right now. Alot of their older names are going to Saudi Arabia. Milan have to get value where they can find it. So I hope, for those of us who bleed red and black, that RLC is the kind of fit that M&M had envisaged when they initially pursued him.
