CorSera: Milan’s anger justified but their poor performance cannot be ignored

It was yet another poor display from AC Milan last night as they only got a 1-1 draw against Udinese. Although the away side’s equaliser should have been disallowed, the Rossoneri didn’t play well enough.

As stated by today’s edition of Corriere Della Sera (via MilanNews), Udogie clearly touched the ball with his arm for Udinese’s equaliser. Guida, who was in charge of VAR, didn’t even tell Marchetti (the referee) to check the incident on the screen.

In spite of this error, which resulted in a furious Paolo Maldini (rare) after the game, it must be said that Milan put in yet another poor performance. They have now dropped 12 points against teams in the bottom half of the standings, which isn’t good enough.

Milan had a black-out after the lead and, looking at the game in full, didn’t really deserve to take home the three points. It’s something that Pioli and his men will have to work on ahead of the Coppa Italia derby on Tuesday.
