CorSera: Milan hope to get a further boost from Ibrahimovic’s return

The Zlatan Ibrahimovic soap opera continues to drag on, but everyone at AC Milan hope that he will re-enter the fold in the very near future after weeks of talks.

This morning’s edition of Corriere della Sera (via PianetaMilan), Stefano Pioli’s Milan seem to have recovered for the time being in the league thanks to back-to-back home wins against Fiorentina and Frosinone.

The top of the table, occupied by Inter, is still six points away but the Rossoneri do not intend to give up the race for the title any time soon, something that Pioli spoke about after the game on Saturday.

“Those who don’t say they’re aiming for the Scudetto are because they haven’t won the title for several years, but we can’t, we are Milan and we have to aim for the top of the table,” he said.

The trust confirmed in him by Gerry Cardinale after the Champions League defeat against Borussia Dortmund helped, but the hope is that Ibrahimovic can soon do his part.

The Swede is expected to return to the club as an advisor to Cardinale, and he will be able to put his his undisputed leadership and experience at the service of his former team to give a further boost.
