AC Milan and Inter have been working to get their stadium project on the road for many years now and despite some optimism in recent months, the project is still struggling to take off.

The Milan-based clubs have made it very clear that a new stadium is a necessity for their future, as it would guarantee a lot more revenue than the current situation. That is, of course, because the Guiseppe Meazza is owned by the city and not the clubs.
It has proved very difficult to get the stadium project up and running, though, as we have also seen in other parts of Italy. Therefore, according to Corriere Della Sera (via MilanNews), Milan and Inter are also looking at other areas than San Siro.
The clubs have been looking at Sesto San Giovanni, San Donato and Segrate, which are all easily reached with the underground metro. San Siro is still plan A but the idea of building it somewhere else has become increasingly concrete given the struggles with the city council.
