CorSera: Milan preparing for post-Kessie era as midfield loanees will return

Franck Kessie’s future has been a hot topic lately and that is understandable, seeing as his contract with AC Milan will expire in the summer. By the looks of it, the Rossoneri are planning for a scenario in which he leaves.

The midfielder has been a key player for Milan in the last few years and it would indeed be a shame to lose him for free. His renewal demands have been very hefty, though, which also has to be considered.

According to today’s edition of Corriere Della Sera (via MilanNews), Milan have put €6m per year on the table but Kessie wants €8m. The distance between the parties is still significant, in other words, and a solution looks difficult.

In the summer, the Rossoneri will welcome Yacine Adli and Tommaso Pobega back to the club as the loans will expire. Two midfielders that want to fight for a starting spot and seemingly have what it takes to do so. In that sense, Milan would be able to cover for Kessie’s exit.
