CorSera: Milan silence rumours of crisis and get back to their near-best in crucial Roma win

AC Milan have had a lot of criticism levelled at them over the past couple of weeks, but they responded in excellent fashion with a huge win over Roma.

As il Corriere della Sera writes (via MilanNews), Pioli’s Milan gave a good kicking to any suspicion of crisis after two defeats in a row in the league against Spezia and Inter and the two draws against the Red Star in the Europa League.

The Rossoneri achieved a fundamental victory in the Champions League race thanks to Franck Kessie’s penalty and Ante Rebic’s second-half strike. Not only that, but the Diavolo also remain in touching distance of Inter and have not even given up the Scudetto race, even if it will not be easy to recover the four-point gap to the Nerazzurri.

The Rossoneri created many chances in the capital, but to take the lead they needed a penalty converted by Kessie (the foul on Calabria was very clear). After several missed chances however, the equaliser from Veretout arrived, but Rebic put the team on his back and won the game.

There is some negative news however as Calhanoglu, Ibrahimovic and Rebic had to leave the field early. The hope is that it is not anything serious.
