CorSera: Milan star lays down significant demands as Atletico Milan and Chelsea circle

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan captain Alessio Romagnoli is set to demand a substantial salary in order to pen a new deal and commit his future to the club, it is claimed.

According to the latest from newspaper il Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri intend to sit down with Romagnoli and his agent Mino Raiola to discuss an extension of his current contract, which is set to expire in 2022.

The paper adds though that there are several big European clubs on his trail, with Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid mentioned in particular as having a concrete interest.

As a result, the 25-year-old wants €5million net per season to extend his agreement and remain at the San Siro for the foreseeable, something which would represent an exception for Milan and their planned salary ceiling.

Calciomercato.com recently reported that both Chelsea and Juventus are also interested in signing the former Roma man, who joined back in 2015 for a fee of €25m.
