CorSera: Form and affordability – Milan strongly tempted by Bundesliga sensation

By Oliver Fisher -

It seems to be a two-horse race between Serhou Guirassy and Jonathan David as the AC Milan management look for a new striker to give to Stefano Pioli.

This morning’s edition of Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews), David has long been in Milan’s sights for the attack but now they are also looking into the idea of signing Guirassy from VfB Stuttgart.

There are a couple of reasons that the Guinea international stands out. The first is his form, given he has 18 goals in 13 games this season across league and cup (16 of them in the Bundesliga), and the second is that he has an affordable release clause of €17m.

Guirassy would therefore cost much less than Lille’s David, who has a valuation between €30- 40m. The striker signing could be partly financed by the sale of Rade Krunic to Fenerbahce too, with the aim being to collect an amount of around €10m to put towards the purchase.
