CorSera: Milan’s depth exacts revenge as the Rossoneri obtain commanding win over Verona

AC Milan’s ‘reserves’ took care of business on Sunday afternoon against Hellas Verona, prevailing 2-0 in what was a professional victory.

According to il Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews), Stefano Pioli was without Theo Hernandez, Bennacer, Calhanoglu, Rebic and Ibrahimovic for the trip to the Bentegodi. Sandro Tonali should also be added to that list, who was bruised and remained on the bench for 90 minutes. Despite all these important absences, Pioli’s team proved once again to be a real team and went on to win against a team that had taken 10 points from their last four home games prior.

The players called upon were decisive as goals for Krunic and Dalot settled the game and gave three golden points to the Rossoneri. Juric’s team did not play their best game, but the credit is also due to Milan who took the field with the right attitude and commanded the game from start to finish.

After a disappointing draw against Udinese last Wednesday, Milan kept the pressure on Inter who tonight will face off against Atalanta. The next two weeks will be really decisive for the season as there is the Europa League round of 16 at Manchester United, with Napoli arriving at San Siro in between. Then there is a league away game against Fiorentina before the stop for the international break – four very important matches.
