CorSera: Milan’s pursuit of De Paul becomes difficult due to two key factors

By Oliver Fisher -

It will be difficult for AC Milan to land Rodrigo De Paul this summer due to a couple of factors, but they seem adamant to make an attempt.

According to what is being reported by il Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews), Milan have targeted De Paul as a replacement for Hakan Calhanoglu and have been in talks for a few days now, but it will not be easy for the Rossoneri to sign the Argentine attacking midfielder.

There are two reasons for this: first of Udinese’s asking is very high (€40m) and there is also is strong competition from LaLiga champions Atletico Madrid. The paper adds that Milan have no intention of participating in auctions for any player, which implies that the club will lay out the economic parameters needed to make the deal happen and will not go beyond that, a strategy also seen in renewal negotiations.
