AC Milan will continue to work until the final days of the mercato to fix one current whole in Marco Giampaolo’s team, a report claims.
Friday’s edition of il Corriere della Sera has taken stock of the current Milan on the eve of the start of the 2019-20 Serie A season.
Their report claims that the Rossoneri remain an ‘open site’ (i.e. not yet a completed squad) and are likely remain to remain as such until the end of the current window.
Giampaolo has ‘proven to be a perfectionist’ during his time at Milan, and although he has not been able to establish a perfect squad this summer, the bulk is there.
Milan can count on young prospects, such as new arrivals Ismael Bennacer, Rafael Leao and Theo Hernandez, as well as a talented existing core.
However, the one thing currently missing from the squad is an established support striker to play alongside Krzysztof Piatek.
Angel Correa remains the most heavily-linked player in that department, but a deal is not yet complete as Milan stand firm.
