CorSera: Top four finish not certain as Milan are on a slide – the good work in Rome undone

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s draw against Udinese last night was yet another game that turned out to be more complicated than expected, a report claims.

As il Corriere della Sera writes (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri managed a draw thanks to a 97th-minute penalty due to a moment of utter naivety from Stryger Larsen. The draw does not make the night less bitter though, as Milan are no longer the unbeatable and brilliant team admired in 2020.

While it is true that Stefano Pioli’s men do not give up, they also don’t seem to have the strength to run anymore. The only consolation for Pioli is to have avoided a third defeat in the last four league games. The game against Roma now seems to have been an illusion, with all the good work in the capital undone.

Tonight Inter can extend their lead atop the table to six points and perhaps finally close the Scudetto speech, but the Rossoneri must look over their shoulder at Juventus and Atalanta who are four points away, while Roma are six. A top four finish, therefore, is not safe.
