CorSera: Zaniolo’s stance gives Milan and Juventus hope in pursuit

There has been an important step in the Nicolo Zaniolo saga as Roma have softened slightly on the formula they would accept, a report claims.

According to Corriere della Sera (via SempreMilan.it), Roma have been left in a very difficult position with regards to the Zaniolo situation. He has made it clear to the Giallorossi management that he does not intend to renew his deal expiring in 2024 at the moment, which is the starting point.

That has forced Roma to think about a sale this summer in order to recoup the best amount possible given next summer he will be one year from his contract expiry. Juventus and Milan are only the teams most interested in the player, but the request of €60m has put them off unless counterparts can be excluded.

In the last few days Newcastle United and Tottenham have also shown an interest in Zaniolo which gave Roma hope of being able to sell to a richer club, but these are two destinations that do not particularly enthuse the player who would like to stay in Italy.

That is why Roma may be forced to open up to the idea of loan with obligation to buy, something they will evaluate after the meeting between Zaniolo and Jose Mourinho which will be crucial in the future of Italian talent.
