CorSport: Champions League qualification could be key as PSG plot bid for Milan star

AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori is attracting interest from Paris Saint-Germain and they could soon put forward an offer, according to a report.

According to this morning’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), Tomori has ended up in PSG’s sights for next season as they believe the signing of Milan Skriniar from Inter on a free transfer will not be enough.

The English defender was bought from Chelsea in 2021 for €30m euros and today he is one of Milan’s star players, practically always playing in the defensive department for the biggest games given his impact.

The management will listen to the offers that will arrive but they will do so in the knowledge that they have no intention of selling their best players.

However, PSG are a team that have put huge sums of money on the table in the past, and qualifying (or not) for the next Champions League could have an impact.

  1. Yes !

Trotters Independent Traders have solution for everything

Just sell to bring more money, and next season wi will finish midtable 100%

    1. Yep, Milanelo, they seemed that real business is like some Monopoly game, you simply buy / sell stuff with cards and chips in a kinda’ schematic, straitghforward way.

Well, in real life it’s not like that, if the market is inflated to the point that Milan can get 100M for Tomori, this means that a replacement of the same level of quality AND experience will most likely have a similar or even higher cost. And then we can add the problems of adapting to a new environment, getting along with the the mates on the squad, the coach etc. etc. etc.

Not many defenders (in the history even) are valued at 100M€ and you’re saying his replacement would come at similar or higher cost? LOL. So basically you’re saying Tomori is one of the very best defenders in the world.

I’d say we can find a similar player for 20-30M€ if we look hard enough. Who knows, we might even have that already (Thiaw – with a fraction of the price).

        1. Agree , we can find more cheaper defender like thiaw 5m euro or sign ndicka free transfer. I dont know why this gre no li want to find defender with 60-70m euro similar price with tomori . Gvardiol that leipzig rated 100m euro +++ cannot guarantee safe for leipzig defense ( they conceded many goals) . We dont need expensive CB like this gre no li said but we need quality striker and RW to score goal vs lower team in serie A

  2. Bring back thiago Silva and sell noth less than seventy five million at least kalulu will grow more

  3. He is good defender and better than kalulu or gabbia in this squad now. But i believe management can find cheap option for good defender like kjaer & thiaw. 60-70m euro are good price for tomori , AC Milan can invest that money buying striker to replace origi and regeneratiom for giroud that already 37 years
