CorSport: Clause in contract could see Milan rewarded for patience in Bremer pursuit

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan and other suitors are aware of a clause in Gleison Bremer’s contract at Torino that could see him arrive in a cheaper deal, a report claims.

According to Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), Bremer is among Milan’s transfer targets as they look to bolster the rearguard with a new centre-back to replace the outgoing Alessio Romagnoli, but finding an agreement this summer might not be easy given his high asking price.

However, the paper claims that there is a particular clause present in his contract which is tempting to the Rossoneri and others who are interest. In January 2023 Bremer would free himself for less than €15m thanks to a clause in the contract signed when he renewed with Torino.

Therefore, there would be an element of reward for patience as signing him in the winter would result in a discount that is potentially close to 50% on the current €25m price being widely reported at the moment.

  1. That clause just makes it 100% that he will be sold in this transfer window, no way Torino will lose that much for him, if we snooze we will loose to another team. He will 100% be joining another team this summer

  2. or else Make a deal to get it in January… because we already have tomori, kalulu, kjher and gabbia

  3. Sigh..watching Man City got Haaland, Liverpool got Darwin Nunez. And we’re still waiting and looking for cheap players to show up.

        1. People like you are drowning in tea cups and the window isn’t even open yet. Wait until Sept 1 and then judge. And like abanjo said, putting us in the same sentence with City and Liverpool in terms of money is a laugh.

        2. Winning the league means €7-8m extra over coming second and a roughly 40-50% better chance of qualifying for the second round of the Champion’s League. That’s it. And worth bearing in mind a lot of players will have ‘Championship Winning’ clauses in their contract which will be paid out (and these are probably quite high for Milan due to lower wages and unlikelihood).

Liverpool have been working on the Nunez deal for months to replace either Mané or Salah and they can offer far more at the moment. The problem isn’t Milan, it’s the last 20 years of Italian football’s ability to market itself Vs the Premier League. And it’s only going to get worse…

  4. Or, instead of ‘no way Torino won’t sell him’ — it might not be up to Torino because with that clause, maybe no way another team will choose to throw money away now when they can wait until January and go after him then.

We thought for a long time we could sell Kessie and get cash for him — PSG, Barca and Premier League teams were all mentioned; but nobody wanted to pay a transfer fee to us when they knew he’d be on the free soon enough.

  5. So what, now they ask for 25,if there is 50% clause they can ask for 50 mil in january for him and get 25 mil again lmao

  6. Just stop with this bs. He will not come to us bc he is far far to good for the bench and he wants to play in a back 3, it will be spurs or inter for him and if Skriniar leaves I think I know where he will go sadly
