CorSport: Fonseca wants Abraham ASAP – the two counterparts Roma want

After Alvaro Morata, Paulo Fonseca has expressly asked the AC Milan management to try and get Tammy Abraham from Roma from his management, and they are working on the deal.

As Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) reports this morning, there are all the conditions in place to conclude the deal: the player wants the move and has an agreement in principle over terms, while Roma are keen to sell after signing Artem Dovbyk.

However, the distance between Milan and the Giallorossi is still quite large, but Fonseca still hopes to have Abraham available as soon as possible, a scenario that could come true thanks to Alexis Saelemaekers and Noah Okafor.

Considering Roma’s request (€25-30m) and Milan’s intention to get the best deal possible, this deal could run aground, but the capital club are exploring the potential of getting a player in return with Okafor and Saelemaekers the main suspects.

The Belgian is liked because he would have the ideal characteristics for Daniele De Rossi’s game, while the Swiss would be ideal for his versatility, but it is precisely for these reasons that Fonseca would like to keep them, evaluating other players to include in the Abraham deal, such as Davide Calabria.

The paper goes on to add that there could well be competition to see off. After Gianluca Scamacca’s knee injury, Atalanta have also resumed their pursuit of Abraham who they have been persistently seeking already in the summer of 2021, before the former Chelsea player chose Roma.
