CorSport: Guirassy injury not as bad as feared – opens door to Fullkrug move

By Euan Burns -

The injury that caused Serhou Guirassy to fail his medical with Borussia Dortmund is not as serious as initially feared and could still mean that Milan can sign Niclas Fullkrug.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via Milan News), Guirassy should still be able to sign for Dortmund in the coming days.

Milan have been linked heavily with Guirassy in the past but he chose to join Dortmund this summer from Stuttgart. The emergence of an injury in his medical cast huge doubt over the move, but this new information suggests that he may only need a month of treatment before he can play again.

With Guirassy joining Dortmund, there is less need for the German side to keep hold of Fullkrug who is one of many strikers that Milan have been looking at.

The club wants to ensure that Alvaro Morata is not the only striker to join the club so that Paulo Fonseca will have three options for his first season in charge.

Fullkrug would also represent a different tactical option for Fonseca as he is a fairly old-fashioned player who has immense presence in the penalty area and scores a lot of headed goals, whilst Morata is more of an all-rounder.

  1. His profile is more suited to be our Mr. X. In the sense that no one has ever came close to mention his name before.

Talking about his transfer, we could’ve gotten Guirassy in the first place with his price range.

  2. Fulkrug was signed last year – I don’t think BvB will move him on already. They will tell him to put his big boy pants on and compete.

  3. Why are we trying to sign fullkrug and morata if we have jovic, okafor and maldini?

Do we like spending our money stupidly? Jovic proved he can produce last season, as did Okafor. Getting either Fullkrug or Morata seems like enough and i’d prefer Fullkrug as he’s more of a purebred striker.
