CorSport: How Milan are expected to line up against Salernitana

AC Milan will play their final match before Christmas on Friday night at the Arechi against Salernitana, and this morning’s edition of Corriere dello Sport has named the probable line-up.

The paper (via PianetaMilan) begins by talking about the return of captain Davide Calabria, who served his suspension in Milan-Monza and should take his right-back spot from Alessandro Florenzi. Mike Maignan, Simon Kjær, Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernández complete the rearguard.

In midfield, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Tijjani Reijnders seem certain of a spot given Tommaso Pobega’s injury and the fact Yacine Adli and Rade Krunic appear to be out of favour again. Ismaël Bennacer should join up with them, with Yunus Musah expected to miss the game.

Up front, Noah Okafor is also unavailable due to injury, so it will likely be the first choice trio of Christian Pulisic, Olivier Giroud and Rafael Leão to start, with Samuel Chukwueze and Luka Jović ready to come off the bench.

Probable Milan XI (4-3-3): Maignan; Calabria, Kjær, Tomori, Theo Hernández; Loftus-Cheek, Bennacer, Reijnders; Pulisic, Giroud, R. Leão.

Bench: Sportiello, Mirante, Bartesaghi, Florenzi, Pellegrino, Simic, Adli, Krunic, Zeroli, Chukwueze, Romero, Chaka Traorè, Jović. Coach : Pioli.
