GdS: Musah’s issue more serious than first thought – he will miss Salernitana

By Oliver Fisher -

Given that this is a day which ends in ‘y’, there is more news on the AC Milan injury front and it is not a positive development regarding Yunus Musah.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) writes how Milan returned to training yesterday after being given a day of rest, and today they will be at Milanello in the morning to prepare for Friday’s away match against Salernitana.

It is a match in which Musah will be absent, as he was visibly limping yesterday at the Christmas party. His muscular problem – which came about before the Newcastle United game and was aggravated in the last match of the Champions League group – is more serious than expected.

He will be back after Christmas, but not before. Milan will take off in the direction of Naples tomorrow afternoon then transfer by bus to Salerno, while they will return to Malpensa the night after the match.

Davide Calabria will return from suspension but at least one of either Simon Kjaer or Jan-Carlo Simic will play in the centre of the defence.

  1. Musah played so many minutes and Pioli failed to rest him properly. We see the same recurring theme over and over. Pioli over-exerts certain players while leaving some to rot on the bench.
Pioli needs to start thinking like a champion and raise a squad that can handle the league, UCL and Coppa Italia.
The same thing with the injuries also happened last season.

    1. its one thing to overplay guys; its another thing to overplay a guy who you know has a muscle injury going into the game. To still have him in in the 83rd minute…that doesn’t sit well. Especially with a young player.

  2. Pioli has reach his maximum with this squad. He is ok guy,but in my opinion this would his top line, his limit. We all have our limits.I think ACM needs a Trainer for higher targetsmthis is not a squad of all 20’s jung boys, but a mixture of exp and new ones, with a potential to grow up further.I don’t want to be to harsh,I like Stefano, but ACM has no style, nothing at all.Few Balls are coming thrungh wings,Rafa breaks 1 on 1 sometimes, sometimes Puli from right…and that is all.No plan in attack,no combinations,cross-diagonal-direct movings are none…high ball from wing to Oli on 11’s ,and that’s it.Adli who is playing great football and has perfect perifer sight is sitting on bench(Only with him or Bennacer it looks like football game…)without them Reijnders and Ruben are cut off.Wings are cut off.Oli is cut off.Pure running ,running, running back and forth….not much sense.I am so sorry about that.Does it have something with injuries?I don’t know

  3. This one is pretty ridiculous. I’m not one to blame a coach for injuries.

But he came into this game already injured, and I know he was important to the first goal, but to still have him in the 83rd minute when he was already injured is ridiculous.

You have a young player, and you start messing with their career when you take those kinds of risks…
