CorSport: Castillejo working hard to recover – when he hopes to be back for Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli is getting ready to welcome winger Samu Castillejo back into the fold after his recent injury.

The Spaniard had to be taken off 15 minutes into the Rossoneri’s 2-2 draw against SPAL with what was confirmed to be a hamstring strain, and he missed the crucial clashes with Lazio and Juventus.

As Corriere dello Sport reports on Friday (via MilanLive), the player has set himself the goal of returning for the match on the 18 July at San Siro against Bologna.

A few days after the scan he posted on social media to say: “From today we are working on recovering as soon as possible. Thanks everyone for the messages.”

The paper assures that he is doing all the necessary work to come back as soon as possible and help Milan achieve their goal of qualification for the Europa League and even a fifth-placed finish.

If he were to return for the game against Bologna there would still be four games left after that: the trip to Sassuolo, the home match against Atalanta, the game against Sampdoria and the last match of the season at San Siro against Cagliari.
