CorSport: Milan continue talks over Benfica midfielder – two-year loan the current idea

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are in pursuit of two midfielders as they look to give Stefano Pioli the ‘four starters’ he asked for, a report claims.

In the last few hours, rumours about Tiemoué Bakayoko’s return to Milan have intensified and several sources are reporting that Milan have started negotiations with Chelsea on the basis of an paid loan with option to buy.

However, il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanLive) seem to suggest that Florentino Luis of Benfica is still a player that the Rossoneri are considering. Sporting director Ricky Massara has continued contacts for the 20-year-old, who fits perfectly with Elliott Management’s preferred recruitment strategy.

Milan are working on a two-year loan with a redemption obligation. Benfica are asking a large sum but have already opened to the idea of loan. In short, it could become a more affordable deal than that for Bakayoko, and Florentino is more likely to accept a role as a deputy to begin.
