The AC Milan management currently have no plans to make a signing for the midfield during the January transfer window despite the difficult situation approaching.
As Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) writes this morning, the situation in midfield for the next few weeks at Milan will not be ideal. At the moment Stefano Pioli cannot count on Yunus Musah and Tommaso Pobega, while Ismael Bennacer will leave soon too.
The American was the victim of muscle strain after the Newcastle United game, is doing individual training sessions and is in doubt for Sassuolo. His return could be at the beginning of 2024. The Italian instead underwent tendon repair surgery to fix a left rectus femoris issue, which will keep him away from the field for at least four months.
There there is the probable departure of Bennacer who is heading for the African Cup of Nations in January. The Algerian has been called up for the preliminary squad and is unlikely to miss out on the final squad.
Despite all of this, the newspaper goes on to claim that the Rossoneri management has no intention of carrying out any operations in that area of the pitch. This is in spite of the fact that names like Samuele Ricci and Assan Ouedraogo continue to be linked.
I’m sure Milan has the money and willingness to spend 30M€ (or more) on Ricci. Why? Because they adore Italians.
