CorSport: Milan expected to extend deal with PUMA and net sizeable revenue boost

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are set to be rewarded for their improved fortunes on the field with an increase in revenue from one of their main sponsors, a report claims.

With Milan having secured a second straight Champions League campaign and the possibility of winning the league title on Sunday, a rise in the money generated from sponsors and partners is expected to rise.

According to Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), the renewal of the agreement between Milan and the technical sponsor PUMA is expected shortly, which expires in 2023. The new agreement is expected to be at higher figures than the current ones, too.

The paper goes on to add that the deal should go from €13m per season fixed to €20m plus €2m in bonuses that will be triggered under certain conditions, which is a rise of over 53% compared to the terms of the current deal and is a sign of an improving situation on and off the field.

  1. Juventus’s Jeep deal is €45 million per year. Milan should at least ask for €30 mil. I believe Milan has higher fanbase worldwide to Juve’s.

    1. I could be wrong but I am fairly certain that Juventus’ owners also have a significant stake in Fiat/Chrysler/Jeep so that sponsorship deal needs to be considered in that light and cannot be compared to a non-affiliated sponsorship.

    2. It’s not the same
I’m not sure about the terminology, but Juve’s Jeep it’s like our Emirates. I think it’s called title sponsor.
Juve’s technical sponsor is Adidas. We should compare it to that (I won’t be surprised if it’s higher than 20 mil bcoz currently Juventus is more popular club)

  2. Simply saying something does not make it true. As an example, Juventus had 52.7 million Instagram followers as of March 2022 compared to 11.8 million for Milan. This is not exact proof but it is rather indicative that your statement appears to be wrong. I pulled the data from statistica.

  3. According to the latest YouGov index from April 2022, AC Milan is the strongest football brand in Italy, and the strongest Italian football brand in the US and China.

Regarding Juve’s Instagram followers there is probably tens of millions, who didn’t bother to unfollow, when CR7 left… Anyways I consider the YouGov index more reliable than no. of Instagram/Twitter/Facebook followers.
