CorSport: Milan will not give up fight for Udinese and Fenerbahce youngsters

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan are not going to give up on trying to sign two talented young midfielders in the shape of Udinese’s Lazar Samardzic and Fenerbahce’s Arda Guler, a report claims.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport (via Milan News), the Rossoneri are focused almost entirely on the midfield and the attack right now.

With Sandro Tonali leaving, Ismael Bennacer injured, and Brahim Diaz and Aster Vranckx gone, there is a need for both quality signings and depth options. This is where Samardzic and Guler come in.

A deal will need to be struck with Udinese for Samardzic, whilst there is a €15 million release clause for Guler which Milan could decide to trigger. There is huge interest in the Turkish player from other big European clubs, notably Barcelona.

Beyond the many other targets, there are also the names of Ibrahim Sangare at PSV Eindhoven and Florentino Luis from Benfica in the frame.

  1. Both Guler and Samardzic are offensive players, more of a replacement for Diaz than Tonali, as they don’t participate in defending. We need midfielders who are adept at both attacking and defending, like Tonali and Bennacer.
