CorSport: Milan going full steam ahead for PSV star – three factors work in their favour

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are ready to use the three factors they have in their favour to secure the signing of PSV Eindhoven defender Denzel Dumfries.

That is according to Sunday’s edition of il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanLive) which confirmed that the Netherlands international is a concrete goal for the Rossoneri this summer as they look to fix the problematic right-back spot.

The first factor that Milan can use to their advantage is Mino Raiola, as he recently became Dumfries’ agent. Milan boast consolidated and trusted relationships with Raiola, especially after the advent of the Elliott Management property.

When discussing the renewals of Gianluigi Donnarumma and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the Rossoneri can also bring up the topic of Dumfries and convince Raiola to act as an intermediary.

The second concerns sales. To get to Dumfries, Milan will be forced to sell one of Davide Calabria and Andrea Conti, and the departure of one of them will yield a small treasure to be reinvested on the 24-year-old who is considered more ready and mature than Calabria and Conti.

The third factor is Ricardo Rodriguez. Milan and PSV in January agreed on the loan of the Swiss full-back to the Eredivisie club, and the Rossoneri can use this component in their favour. PSV would in fact be more inclined to deal with the sale of Dumfries if Milan lowered their requests for Rodriguez.
