CorSport: Milan have identified the man they want to replace Brahim Diaz

AC Milan are looking to try and replace Brahim Diaz after his loan deal expired and he returned to Real Madrid, with an option reportedly identified.

Today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) talks about the possible solution for the Rossoneri being Chrisian Pulisic of Chelsea, who is expected to leave London this summer after a difficult 2022-23 season.

The Croatian would approve of the idea of a move to the Rossoneri subject to an agreement between the two clubs, which is still some distance away given there is a gap of about €10m between the valuations of Milan and Chelsea.

Milan do not intend to eat into the proceeds from the sale of Sandro Tonali too much given they have multiple roles to address, while Pulisic is under contract until 2024 which factors into their assessment.

With the signing of the USA international, the feeling is that he could fill the roles that Brahim did, i.e. as a player capable of playing across the forward line with more of an emphasis on the No.10 role and the right wing.

  1. I bet their choice is Pulisic because either
    a) Cardinale has told them he wants Amuricans on the team because they are the best or
    b) Furlani knows Cardinale thinks Amuricans are the best and as he wants to keep his new job he wants to buy as many of them as possible.

We’ll probably end up regretting not getting Kamada…

  2. He would qualify for Croatian if he plaid for them. Heritage aside it would be correct to state the American not Croatian.

  3. So Kamada’s out?
    It’s a mistake
We don’t have such a technical midfielder. Pulisic is a winger, he can’t replace Diaz.

  4. I watched him a few times on W.C. in a national team jersey and he was “the man who makes a difference”! Extremely fast and penetrating player. If he was like that before, I’m not surprised Chelsea paid him that much a couple of years ago. He’s only 24. If he could get back just part of that form, it would be worth taking a chance on him.

  5. Pulisulic is no joke. He can also sell Milan jerseys in the US. He’s a bit more proven (Bundesliga, EPL, national team) than Kamada and 2 years younger. But I think Kamada will also arrive on a free.

  6. I think Capt America will join Milan. Considering Chelsea is really doing serious business in getting their closet and wage bill cleaned. Just hope that his arrival has nothing to do with Kamada.

  7. He is not a right sided player. Why are we trying to reinvent the wheel again? He’s not much of AM either. He is LW.

  8. I’d like to see Pulisic in the team, skilled guy with high potential upside – hope the idea is to get him in as someone who can fill in for any of the 3 roles behind the striker, with Kamada/de Ketelaere in the middle and Saelemakers and another RW option (if the club can offload Messias).

  9. It would be great to sign Pulisic. If that’s not possible, I think Krunic can replace Diaz if needed. Krunic would up his game quickly if he played central attacker full time. He doesn’t let himself fail like, for example, CDK will.

  10. Why is Moncanda not even scouting Laliga? Interesting players like Iglesias and Sancet of Athletic club can solve our AM problem. Proven goal scorers and superb presence in the final third

  11. We don’t need a winger,we need a play maker (Kaka,Pato). Bring Angelo Gabriel on 10M and save the other money for Frattesi.
