CorSport: Milan, Juventus and Roma all keen on Danish midfielder

By Oliver Fisher -

Morten Hjulmand was one of the stand-out performers for Lecce as they avoided relegation on their return to Serie A, and he has caught the eye of some top clubs.

According to a report from Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan), Milan are among the sides who are interested in signing Hjulmand as they look to rebuild their midfield. The Danish international made 36 appearances across all competitions, racking up five assists from a deeper-lying role.

Hjulmand us under contract with the Giallorossi until June 2024 which puts them under a bit of pressure, but they do have the option to extend that for another year and boost their negotiating power.

There is a queue forming to sign the 24-year-old it seems which is music to Lecce’s ears. In addition to Milan, it seems Juventus, Fiorentina and Roma have also expressed their appreciation for the player on several occasions which should boost his price.

  1. So why did they splash 21mil for injury prone Chelsea flop who isn’t even a DM when this guy, a natural DM proven in Seria A was an option ?

      1. No way mate, his market price is 15mil and he is also on expiring contract. Lecce would prob ask around 20mil. They will lose him for free next year if they don’t renew or sell now. Also Loftus Cheek took a non EU spot and now they cant sign Kamada. Such a bad move.
