Tijjani Reijnders has a contract until 2028 with AC Milan but could already sign a renewal, following the success since last summer. Indeed, with Barcelona and Manchester City interested, the Rossoneri have accelerated the matter.

Reijnders joined Milan in the summer of 2023 from AZ Alkmaar, in a deal worth around €20m plus bonuses, and he has been a key player since. In the most recent game against Club Brugge, he scored a brace and was named the MOTM in our player ratings.

As you would expect, also taking the success at the Euros into consideration, several big cubs are keeping an eye on the midfielder. Barcelona and Manchester City are two of them, according to Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), with the latter looking for a Rodri replacement.

Barcelona were interested already before the Milan move as Reijnders’ father advised him to go with the Rossoneri instead. As a result of the interest from several big clubs, the Rossoneri are preparing a renewal which should include a significant pay rise.

The Dutchman currently earns €1.7m per season and compared to the other player salaries at Milan, this is clearly too low for his qualities. A new contract will thus keep Reijnders happy, even if the goal has always been to continue together regardless of the transfer rumours.
