CorSport: Milan run into obstacles in winger pursuit due to requests of entourage – the latest

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have run into a problem in their pursuit of Marseille star Florian Thauvin ahead of the summer, according to a report.

Through our correspondent Pietro Balzano Prota, we revealed how Milan are monitoring Thauvin and Porto’s Otavio ahead of the summer window as both are potential free transfer opportunities. The former has 84 goals and 60 assists in 264 games for the Ligue 1 club, which means he is understandably attracting some interest.

According to il Corriere dello Sport (via Calciomercato.com), Milan are trying to secure the signing of Thauvin on a free transfer by agreeing contractual terms with him before June.

The most significant issues, the paper writes, are the very high commission that the player’s agents are asking for plus the salary that the player is demanding. As there is no transfer fee involved, the demand is €5m per year net, a figure that for Milan is considered too high.
