Mike maignan

The AC Milan management are not just thinking of signings and sales in the summer months but also renewals, with Mike Maignan’s name at the top of the list.

According to Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan), the new-look management are thinking about extending Maignan’s current deal – which expires in June 2026 – for another two seasons and with a pay rise too.

It is a ‘strong and clear signal’ from Milan who, a month ago, sold a key name in the squad in Sandro Tonali to Newcastle United. There won’t be any more big exits this summer and once the window is over, talks will be held with Maignan and his agents.

The Frenchman is the only key man who has not yet renewed his agreement since his arrival from Lille for a bargain €15m including bonuses. His hand in the Scudetto and last season’s Champions League run have not gone unnoticed.

It is better to take precautions from Milan’s point of view because there are interested clubs around Europe given that Maignan is one of the goalkeepers around.
