CorSport: Milan’s ideas for the defence is likely to push one of two centre-backs out

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan could feasibly say goodbye to one of two centre-backs in the summer transfer window, according to a report.

The Rossoneri are in the market for a young centre-back who can learn and grow alongside the established pairing of Alessio Romagnoli and Simon Kjaer, at least according to most media outlets.

A number of different targets continue to be linked including Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic and SC Freiburg’s Robin Koch, and is could seemingly spell bad news for a couple of members of the current squad.

Il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) reports that Milan have an overhaul in mind for the defensive department as they want to bring in a talented new central defender, which is likely to move one of Mateo Musacchio or Leo Duarte towards the exit door.

Both struggled in 2019-20 and had a complicated season due to a combination of physical problems and unconvincing performances, though Duarte did only arrive last summer from Flamengo and is substantially younger.
