AC Milan are hoping to get their second summer signing over the line soon as Strahinja Pavlovic is very close to joining, according to a report.
This morning’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) speaks of a gap of €2m between the offer on the table from Milan and the demands from Red Bull Salzburg, meaning that things are very close to being finalised.
The Austrian club did not call the defender up for Friday’s ÖFB Cup match against Dornbirn but the official reason for that was that he had ‘a lack of training in his legs’ after arriving at preseason late due to being at the European Championship and then having a vacation.
The 23-year-old wants to leave RB Salzburg to go to Milan and he has his heart set on the move, so much so that he rejected the advances of Atlético Madrid who came forward in recent days to try and hijack the operation.
An expense of over €20m is expected but Zlatan Ibrahimović, Geoffrey Moncada and Giorgio Furlani all agree that it is necessary. An agreement with the player is already in place over personal terms: a five-year deal worth €1.5m net per season plus bonuses.
If the news is true, then please just close the deal asap, for God sake. Dont be fail just for a “mere” 2 mil (considering the total price, it is not 3-5 mil transfer fee). So we can shift the focus to other needed department, such as DM
People are always talking very lightly about a few millions extra to be spent. As if they make millions themselves on a daily basis. 2 million is a lot of money. You don´t just take that out of your pocket.
Well this is a top serie A club budget, not our regular salaries, so it’s not really a good comparison to make.
And it will be stupid to lose a player whom we already agreed with, after weeks of negociations because of 2M€

I don’t really see the need to go out into the market now that Morota has been signed, except for center back. Tomori needs to go, he is the weakest link on the team. Tomori is lost without Kjaer because Simon knew how to play D, Tomori only knows how to run fast. He has zero awareness of what is happening around him, he is always reacting, never anticipating. If Milan gets ANY offer they should sell him as he is their biggest liability at the back and the overwhelming cause of their defensive facilities. The man just has no idea how to play as a center back. Speed, and some technical abilities yes, positioning and spatial awareness no. This is nothing new, it’s who he has always been. Kessie in front of him and Kjaer alongside masked that. Never mind looking for someone to play alongside him, get him out now.
I have pretty much the same opinion about his lack of awarness and anticipation,always in need to react and try to repair what he could have prevented.But I think we try to make a very short team(at least this is what I hope and this is my predicition),to press a lot and in this case they need a speedster to cover the long balls behind the defensive line.But definitely we need a CD with more football inteligence and more awarness.If only the italians would still produce the same quality they used to in this department.
I agree with this. Tomori like limbo. Kjaer know how to defence and anticipating. Hes the most experience at the defence. I think Thiaw already had that defence atribute but he must more calmly and consistences.
When it happens this is the best signing so far. A great young player with huge potential. If we can add either Ricci from Torino or bring back Breschianni who we own 50% of that would be good. Lets not forget Juve, Atlanta & Fiorentina are all linked so he is talented. Bennacer is regaining form so we need a younger profile to slowly blend in.

Key point is ALMOST. If they manage to sell Thiaw, then the deal will be closed. Otherwise, they will pull out of the race and blame Pavlo’s team or agent
