Alessio Romagnoli is leading the AC Milan squad in the negotiation with the management of the club regarding the salary cuts for the current period, a report claims.
According to il Corriere dello Sport on Thursday – as cited by MilanLive – the contacts between the club’s hierarchy and the team have intensified regarding the question of cutting salaries to reflect the fact the season is currently suspended due to the COVID-19 emergency.
The stop will obviously have a big financial impact on all clubs and the Rossoneri are no exception. Many will have to make sacrifices and even the players have to do their part.
The paper explains that Romagnoli is in contact with the management to find an agreement. The club captain, representing the team, has already had video calls with management on the subject of salaries.
Romagnoli, on behalf of the group, expressed his willingness to reach an agreement on the cut for the months in which they have not played.
In addition, Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis himself said he was willing to cut his salary. A final agreement is expected to be reached in the coming days.
