CM: Cragno’s future complicated amid Monza struggles – Milan have him on their list

AC Milan are one of the teams monitoring the situation of Alessio Cragno with Monza at risk of finding themselves in a difficult situation, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com report that when Monza decided to sign Alessio Cragno from Cagliari last summer, it seemed to be a clear statement of intent from Silvio Berlusconi’s club and an indication that they were serious about staying in Serie A. He left the relegated Cagliari to remain in the top flight, but thus far he is yet to make a league appearance for the Lombardy side.

The starting spot is held by Michele Di Gregorio, the protagonist of the previous year’s promotion, and he somewhat surprisingly relegated Cragno to being the deputy.

Cragno is looking around as he is understandably unhappy with his situation, and there are several teams interested in him. Fiorentina are keen if Gollini leaves, as are Milan if the Marco Sportiello deal cannot be unblocked in advance.

At the moment, however, no club has made a concrete offer. Cragno joined Cagliari on loan with an obligation to buy in the case they avoid relegation which makes his next move complicated, as it would have to be an outright purchase.
