Christian Pulisic has been the subject of criticism in his home country, but now he is back to focusing on AC Milan.
As Corriere dello Sport (seen below) report this morning, Pulisic’s summer hasn’t gone so well, and after a difficult season. On a personal level, his 29 goal contributions in 2024-25 contributed to another positive campaign, but Milan finished eighth in the league.

A rough summer
In order to get a bit of rest and to recharge ahead of 2025-26, Pulisic stayed at home rather than reporting for national team duty. There has been some criticism about this decision: first from longtime United States captain Donovan, and then from manager Pochettino .
Despite the negativity of the past few weeks and months, there was no shortage of smiles on the first day at Milanello. The paper explains how ‘Captain America’ is enjoying himself a lot at Milan still, where he’s enjoyed the best period of his career in terms of goalscoring.

Stefano Pioli, Paulo Fonseca and Sergio Conceicao have all deemed him to be irreplaceable in the attack. The former Chelsea man done very well under all three managers, who have always, for their part, appreciated his work.
He may not be the type to raise his voice in the dressing room and make himself heard, but Pulisic leads by example with his performances. Having rejected Saudi interest, there is now a renewal to think about.

Guy who probably should be our captain IMO, based on his leading by example the last couple of years.
It’s a possibility, however Mike currently a good captain, Gabbia with tenure and I think he would be good.
But he is near the top of the pecking order now. Leao just doesn’t have the right mentality to be a captain. Leao should only get the armband when another player leaves the field and leao is having a good game.
We don’t wonna hear about this average overhyped overrated Chelsea bench warmer !!!! We don’t care if he scored against Livorno and Lecci!!!! From Kaka Leao Pato Sheva Inzhagi George Weah Baguio Van Basten, now we stoop this low ? This bum is a leader of nobody in Milan!
I’m sick of this nonsense. Puli has easily proven he’s deserving of more respect than this individual cares to offer.
Pulisic is on the very, very short list of hardest workers in the squad. This is why he was at, or near, the top of the sheet for three coaches and likely now a fourth.
Perhaps a name change from De to Duh….
@De…this coming straight out of ma’s basement ha!
lol u think everybody is as soft as u bum americans lol in case u don’t know, micky mouse boy, ur whole paled untalented never has been baseball bloodline came out of cold “basements” crawling on 4 lol ask mommy to put ur cookies on ur little plate then take ur fat butt downstairs to continue watching ur baseball and hockey, bum
And we don’t care that he scored against Inter multiple times, Liverpool, Juve, etc. lol
He scored against inter and Liverpool too. The club is poor, the league is poor no team in Italy is attracting world class players in their prime anymore and the ones who are about to be are too expensive.
Jikes, what about when he scored 2 goals against Inter leading us to a 2-1 victory? Guess if you only look for the bad thats what you gonna see. Stop dreaming. We are in 2025 now.
Hard worker, presence on the pitch, solid output, commited to the club. How come Redbird didn’t sell him? 🤣🤡
Pulisic’s is no leader! He has the personality of wall paper.
Would Theo be in Saudi if he worked as hard as Pulisic or would he be a captain w a new contract and offers of 70M€ trying to lure him to psg Madrid or Bayern? Same w Leao. If he put in the same work from touch line to touch line he’d be basically dembele and in ballon d’or conversation. Milan would’ve challenged for Scudetto if they had 11 players working that hard. Nor would they have to come back so many times in games or conceded so many soft goals.
Well said Chris
