Dalic suggests Modric’s injury may help Croatia during World Cup: “In excellent shape”

Unfortunately for AC Milan, Luka Modric has missed a lot of the season finale. However, it may be a good thing for the Croatian national team.

It has been a difficult few weeks for Milan and perhaps with Modric involved, things would have been easier. They cannot focus on maybes, though. Instead, they must focus on the final game of the season, where they can qualify for the Champions League.

Perhaps the Croatian will be able to play in that game, and if he does help them qualify for Europe, it could help him stay at the club for another year.

A decision, ultimately, will be expected in the next few months and the Rossoneri feel optimistic that he will remain at the club.

Modric benefits from a break

Looking away from club football, though, the Croatian national team manager Zlatko Dalic commented on his condition and MilanVibes have relayed his words about why Modric’s recent time on the sidelines may have benefited his squad.

“He’s training with a mask and doing well. Maybe this break has done him good. We’ll evaluate his condition, but I have no doubts about him. I think he’ll be in excellent shape for the World Cup.”

  1. “Unfortunately for AC Milan, Luka Modric has missed a lot of the season finale.” He missed three games, I’m not sure (whether) that counts as a LOT. His backup (and the one for the starting number 9) will be the most important (in terms of the rotation players) next season.
