DAZN: Milan ‘in pole position’ to land Valencia star after enquiry

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are evaluating various different options to try and improve the squad in the last week of the window and they have enquired about Valencia’s Javi Guerra, it is claimed.

During his pre-match press conference before the Udinese game, Stefano Pioli stated that he would like a centre-back and a central midfielder to arrive before the end of the month.

According to what is being reported by Orazio Accomando of DAZN on X, Milan have enquired about Guerra of Valencia but the Spanish club do not want to sell him in January as things stand.

It is ‘more likely’ that they would be willing to discuss a sale in June. The Rossoneri will make an attempt to bring him to Milan now but it is a ‘difficult operation’.

Milan are in pole position for the summer, Accomando adds, in the event that they are unable to convince Valencia to sell him now.

The 20-year-old came through the youth academy of the Murciélagos and he has played 23 games so far this season, with four goals and an assist to his credit.

His natural position is as a central midfielder, with a box-to-box presence, but he can also play a deeper-lying role if needed.

    1. Because any player can be sold at any moment under this ownership. Bennacer and/or Reijnders could leave next summer with the right offer. Also, it’s a consequence of naming a scout at the helm of football operations.

  1. Nope, he’s not coming with PL clubs looking at him. We still don’t know who our coach will be next year …

I believe that the goal of the management is to buy always players that are undervalued, with maybe 1-2 players paid more (striker role maybe), but even then with the idea that their value will grow more (e.g. Sesko).

This means buying either players with a release clause that is less than their current value, players in the last year of contract or younger players that haven’t made waves yet and reached their full potential.

A player like Javi Guerra with an expensive price would go against all our guidelines.

  2. Getting quite used now to a sick joke every day about some unknown player being chased by the 3 clowns who form milan’s management these days. After two days we forget about the latest one and find some other unknown player …. all so very sick and sad ….
