The calls are growing from journalists for the issues between AC Milan and the Curva Sud to be resolved sooner rather than later.
Despite it being an August weekend, over 71,000 fans showed up at San Siro for the Coppa Italia round of 32 games between Milan and Bari. In spite of these impressive numbers, the only noise that could be heard – aside from the cheers for goals – was from the travelling Bari fans.

The reason for this is that the Curva Sud have decided en masse not to attend. The issues from last season have spilled into 2025-26 and there have been complaints about some members being blacklisted from buying tickets.
Sportitalia’s Michele Criscitiello outlined the grave nature of the situation last night, while Antonio Vitiello has spoken about it in his latest column for MilanNews.
“We’ll close with the San Siro issue. Anyone who experienced Milan-Bari at the stadium on Sunday will understand what we’re talking about. It was surreal to experience 90 minutes of silence, where the only ones singing were the visiting fans,” he said.
“It’s a depressing situation, to say the least, and one that’s unsustainable for the entire season. We hope a solution can be found soon. What matters is the spectacle at the stadium, but also the support for the team. A ‘silent’ San Siro serves no one.”

Curva thinks they are bigger than the club. People don’t watch the games for them. They watch for the players on the pitch and for the jersey.

As usual you’re confusing the club and this ownership. Milan was created in 1899 and Jerry arrived three or four years ago. Most of his tenure the results have been terrible and there were profusion of drama. And traditions and legacy have been either monetized or buried. If you are not cheering and supporting the team while the game is going on, I’m sorry but you are not a real fan of the club. If you hate the ownership more than you love the club, you are not a true supporter of the club.

No. The fans support the club even if they don’t like the ownership. Once the match starts if you are not cheering on your side and your players to win then you have some other agenda.
True fans support the club even when they struggling. Fans that cheer when things are going well and sit silent or protest when the team is struggling are not real fans. We call them fair-weather fans.

Owners made sporting mistakes. No question. They then hired Tare and Allegri to avoid that problem. They learned. We have improved on the pitch. Don’t love the owners but don’t have to hate them either.
Prosecutor comes in and says no illegal activity at stadium during game. Club says, “we can get on board with that” and maybe (I’m not sure) takes it too far.
The Curva has observably monetized the club with these illegal behaviors. The very same thing they (and you) moan about with the current ownership.
If you are a Milan supporter then the first job is to support the team on the field. Before the game, after, outside the stadium, etc get you f-ing story straight.

If you are letting the ownership stop you from cheering on your team, you have bigger issues and you clearly think ownership is more important than the club. Don’t get me wrong, please: first of all, I must say that I have Italian ancestry on both sides. I simply revere, passionately love Italy in every possible and conceivable aspect—its landscape, its people, its history, culture, cuisine, and so on. That said, one must recognize an inalienable trait, inherent in the very DNA of “Italian-ness”: the irresistible, overwhelming propensity for MELODRAMA, soap opera tearjerking antics.
