AC Milan take on Juventus in Serie A’s headline clash this weekend, and the game will be decided in the midfield as suggested by one outlet.
Paulo Fonseca has already reached the conclusion of the game being won in midfield, and there have been reports suggesting that he will revert to a 4-3-3 for this weekend’s clash. With this, Ruben Loftus-Cheek is likely to slot into the side alongside Tijjani Reijnders and Youssouf Fofana.
However, the report suggests that the biggest battle will involve the latter player. Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) has stated that Milan and Juventus feel safe in their midfield due to their summer additions: Fofana and Kheprhen Thuram.
The French duo add muscle to their respective midfield, whilst also doing their own separate roles. Fofana recovers more than his counterpart and then prefers to pass forward, rather than attacking with his own devices.
Whereas Thuram contributes slightly more to the attack, creating more chances, dribbling more and even delivering more crosses.
Irrespective of their traits, though, they have both added solidity to their respective sides, and perhaps, they could be the keys to their side’s potential successes this weekend.
In a different reality, maybe they could’ve been cogs in the same system.
I just want to say the video pop up on this site is such a horrible harassment I’m not entering here anymore. Forza Milan. Fire your Ux guy.
