Mundo Deportivo: Loanee struggling for chances at Milan as Barcelona’s plan fails

By Oliver Fisher -

Barcelona are already looking into future accommodation for Sergino Dest as they are aware of AC Milan’s stance on a permanent deal, a report claims.

Dest joined Milan on deadline day of the last summer transfer window via the formula of a season-long loan with an option to buy set at around €20m as per all major sources, though so far he has struggled to impress with not much playing time earned.

Mundo Deportivo write how Dest is not having a good campaign with Milan as Barcelona are receiving reports on his progress and that of Samuel Umtiti at Lecce, yet the LaLiga side are in no hurry and the decisions on both will come later.

Dest is not getting the playing time he expected at Milan either due to injuries or the decision of Stefano Pioli, who made the call to leave him off the Champions League squad list and has given him just three starts thus far.

Barça sent him there with the feeling that it was an ideal place to raise his value, so much so that they inserted a €20m option to buy, but now the 22-year-old looks set to return after a difficult campaign.
