Di Marzio: Gazidis eats with the team but no Boban or Maldini – Milan’s likely XI vs. Genoa

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli is likely to make two changes to the line-up that faced Fiorentina for Sunday’s game against Genoa, it is claimed.

The Rossoneri were supposed to face the Rossoblu last Sunday at San Siro, however that game was postponed until this Sunday due to the coronavirus outbreak which has hit large parts of northern Italy, as well as Wednesday’s Coppa Italia semi-final second leg.

Milan are getting for this weekend’s game and according to Gianluca Di Marzio, CEO Ivan Gazidis came to Milanello to have lunch with the team, without directors Paolo Maldini, Zvonimir Boban and Ricky Massara.

He goes on to add that Pioli won’t be able to count on Gianluigi Donnarumma who is still recovering from an injury, so Asmir Begovic will start in goal and will have a back four of Andrea Conti, Simon Kjaer, Alessio Romagnoli and Theo Hernandez in front of him

Samu Castillejo and Ante Rebic will be on the wings with Calhanoglu playing behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic, while the midfield pairing of Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer will again be trusted.

Probable Milan (4-4-1-1): Begovic; Conti, Kjaer, Romagnoli, Theo Hernandez; Castillejo, Kessiè, Bennacer, Rebic; Calhanoglu; Ibrahimovic.
