Di Marzio: Lecce midfielder in demand with Milan among clubs interested

By Oliver Fisher -

Another name has emerged in AC Milan’s bid to rebuild the midfield after Sandro Tonali’s departure in Lecce’s Morten Hjulmand, a report claims.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio on Sky (via MilanNews), Hjulmand is expected to be one of the topical names during the summer transfer window with a number of different sides watching his development.

Milan are admirers of the Dane and they need at least two midfield signings after Tonali’s sale to Newcastle United, but the 23-year-old is also attracting the interest of Roma and teams in the Premier League too.

There are no advanced negotiations yet with any of the clubs mentioned, but he will certainly be a hot name when the window opens in a week.

It was back in January 2021 that Hjulmand left Admira Wacker and signed a four-year contract with Lecce, who were playing in the second tier at the time prior to their promotion back to Serie A.

  1. Just watch we will be linked to all sort of useless players now, and we will end up signing a few on free.

Moncada’s algorithm does not work :))

  2. Most on here seem to share the same opinion of Furlani being god almighty when it comes to negotiations and convincing same goes for Moncada!!

Let them enjoy their moment 🙂

  3. we’ll see furlani and moncada negotiation skills here in this mercato.. if they failed to land good players after tonali sale then the decision to sack maldini n masara will be a blunder to cardinale.

  4. Why cant someone give this fool whatever he paid for milan and take over. He destroyed in 1 year what milan built since elliot took over. I said it when he sacked maldini that no serious player will join since the club seems in chaos, and thats whats happening. Elliot era was focused on stability and this fool destroyed it.

  5. Interest here, interest there. Can’t make a purchase without an actual offer. Not that I’d want them to make one on this case but still. “Concrete interest” isn’t the same as “concrete offer”.
