Di Marzio: Milan abandon Zaniolo pursuit due to Roma’s high requests

AC Milan have abandoned their pursuit of Nicolo Zaniolo, who had agreed to join the Rossoneri and also pushed to join the club. However, the demands of Roma were too high, a report claims.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara jumped at the opportunity of opening talks with Roma over Zaniolo. However, it quickly became clear to them that the Giallorossi wanted more than they could offer, with the price tag set at €30m+.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the €30m+ offer from Bournemouth that arrived earlier during the day only certified Roma’s requests. Milan have thus decided to pull out of the race and will not make an improved offer.

The Rossoneri will have to look elsewhere for a right-wing reinforcement and it seems Hakim Ziyech has come back into fashion. The Morrocan is still keen on leaving Chelsea and Milan are willing to sign him on loan (read more here).
