AC Milan have shown an interest in signing Assan Ouedraogo from Schalke 04 with the 2006-born midfielder showing serious promise.
As has been reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, interest in the midfielder had already been shown by Milan in the summer and now they want to bring him to the club in the January transfer window.
The 17-year-old has currently got a release clause of €20m which means he would not be a simple purchase but a meeting is expected in the coming days between the two clubs.
The main talking point as far as Milan are concerned is the release clause, as the Rossoneri want to see if the German club would be willing to lower it and ensure they still get a handsome fee for such a young player.
So far this season in the Bundesliga 2, Ouedraogo has played nine times and managed to contribute one goal, with Schalke struggling near the bottom.

I would have never thought one day I will see Schalke struggling in Bundesliga 2. But moving on, I don’t think this is the right investment because competition would be severe for signing him, and we don’t really need to invest in a young midfielder. We already have many talented players in our Primavera squad.
Neither would i and i always considered them a big german club due to the 90ies and 00s but if my memory serves me right the last time they actually won the german championship was in the mid 50ies or something. Other clubs like Karlsruher SC, Hamburger SV, MSV Duisburg are also experiencing some really dark years.
If the price is right in regard of the schalke player i see no issues in signing him and maybe let him stay there for a year or two more with them.
You can never have too many talented players. Bring him in.
Too many foreign players
Assan Ouedraogo is a complete midfielder, his characteristic reminds me to Jude Bellingham. He has everything : Good Technique, 191cm tall, strong, balanced, and pretty agile. Transfermarkt.com still give him 500k euros pricetag.
I think it is very good scouting and i hope we will get him. He might transform in to forward like Jude Bellingham too.
