Di Marzio: Milan pushing hard for Zirkzee as emissaries go on London mission

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are pushing hard for Joshua Zirkzee and they believe that they can win the race, with a report detailing a mission to London that took place.

According to the latest from Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan are preparing to officially welcome their new coach, which will be Paulo Fonseca. Yesterday Lille announced that he will be departing, and thus he should land in Italy soon.

In the meantime, however, work continues to strengthen the squad for next year, and the attacking department is certainly among the priorities, given the departure of Olivier Giroud who is heading for the MLS.

In this sense, the Rossoneri’s pressure for Joshua Zirkzee is continuous. The Dutch striker had a great season with Bologna, with whom he gained qualification to the next edition of the Champions League. However, Ronald Koeman – the Netherlands coach – decided not to call him up for the European Championships in Germany.

Contacts continue for the former Bayern Munich, Anderlecht and Parma striker. Milan emissaries were also in London in recent days for a meeting with the player’s agent, who lives in England.

The parties are not yet close, but Milan is continuing to work for Zirkzee hoping to find the right solution regarding salary and commissions. The player’s priority, however, is to remain in Italy rather than move abroad.

    1. Maybe Motta brings Saele to Juve….and ends up with the goal winner in the final game for the Scudetto 🤭😅

  1. The saladman was one of the most likeable frustrating players we have had in recent years. He has it all, speed, work rate, strong shooting, can dribble, decent defender. But man, the kid could not put them all together. He ran past 3 defenders and shot to the stands. Dribble past 3 guys and passed it to the opponent. ugh.

  2. It’s difficult to envision Milan shelling out 40mil plus commission for a player according to what we’ve seen from the club so far. Still seems unlikely.
