AC Milan have been urged to ‘make an exception’ and offer Gianluigi Donnarumma whatever Mino Raiola is asking for.

It is obvious that Paolo Maldini, Ivan Gazidis and the rest of the management consider Donnarumma to be a pillar of their project, but with his deal now in the final six months some steps forward must be taken to try and finally close an agreement over a new contract.
There have been several recent reports suggesting that Raiola wants a big pay rise for his client, who currently earns €6m net per season, but that the Rossoneri leadership are hesitant to offer that for various reasons.
Gianluca Di Marzio spoke to Sky Italia about the future of Donnarumma and urged Milan to make an exception if they are to keep him long term.
“There must be exceptions. He is a 1999 class, one of the strongest goalkeepers in the world, if you were to go and buy a goalkeeper with the qualities of Donnarumma, if there were, how much would it cost?,” he said (via MilanNews).
“Donnarumma could have already signed for free with another team, if he didn’t, it’s because he wants to stay. If Milan want to keep Donnarumma they have to make more than one exception.”
La Gazzetta dello Sport reported this morning (via MilanNews) that Milan have offered a five-year deal worth €7.5million net per season – therefore a deal worth €75m gross – but Raiola is not satisfied and would rather it be a bridge deal.
